Project: Mount Royal Full Home Renovation
Location: Mount Royal, Calgary
Project Scope: The homeowners had just taken possession of a beautiful 1910 character home. While the house had charm and character, there was an opportunity to brighten up the space to match the new homeowners’ preferences. In doing so, we also sought to update some of the key areas such as the kitchen, living room, and principle bedroom.
Approach: To brighten the space, paint, trim and carpet was updated throughout the house - replacing older beige tones with bright whites. In the living room, we added a focal point archway into the sitting room to clearly define the two spaces. The fireplace creates a dramatic effect with textured black herringbone tile capped by an oak mantle. In the kitchen, dark wood cabinets were painted and a heavily patterned countertop was replaced with a subtle quartz. Considering the safety and longevity of the home, old knob and tube electrical was updated throughout, along with plumbing/heating systems and appliances.
